James Christianson' s Experience:
Over the years my photographic experience has been one of variety. I have shot professionally as an advertising photographer, portrait photographer, photojournalist and of course a wedding photographer. My photography has allowed me to travel and shoot in more than 37 countries around the world. My true joy, though has been found in photographing weddings, which I have been doing for the past eight years.
Four years ago I met my wife Charlene. My opening line was, "you have the cutest toes!" She bought the line and we were married September 14, 2003. God has placed an amazing woman in my life and I am thankful for her friendship. I would not be where I am today without her love and support. I am a better person because of the kind of person she is. My hope is that your marriage will be as fulfilling and complete as ours. Charlene and I, along with our golden retriever Leica, live in Longmont, Colorado. We moved to Colorado because of our love for the great outdoors! We have made great friends here and found a wonderful church family here in Boulder. On March 16, 2007 the love of our lives was born into this world. His name is Ian James Christianson. We are so blessed.
In high school I was so into sports that I never took the time to develop my God given talents. It wasn't until my Junior year in college (when I roomed with Jason Wells, the year book editor), that I discovered a passion for photography. I remember looking at his beautiful photographs and thinking, "I want to make images like that." I was hooked! I read everything I could get my hands on about photography. I was taking thousands of photos and spent hundreds of hours in the dark room. I loved it, it became a passion. I never thought to consider that I could do it for a living, until I met Alex Abercrombie. I was teaching a high school photography class and had professional photographers come talk to my class. Alex, came in to talk about wedding photography...I was blown away by her images and asked her if she needed an assistant. Alex was gracious enough to mentor me for the next three years as her assistant. I am thankful for the impact Alex has had on my life...without her, I would never have taken that leap. Without her mentor ship, life would be very different. Thank you Alex. The rest, as they say, is History.
